Eight Years in Venice.
This covers the eight fabulous years I was lucky to spend in Venice when I retired from art teaching. I sold up in Scotland and drove to Italy for what was to be one year, but ended up being eight!. It is a talk, not on the usual museums and churches, but on Venice's everyday life - its people, its seasons, its transport system - all of which makes La Serenissima the totally mad, frustrating, gorgeous place that it is!
Jean Moncrieff Bespoke Rugs
As a graduate in textile design, I was always drawn to working with wool. First in the eighties, when I designed my range of needlepoint kits which sold to prestigious outlets such as Harrods, Liberty and Jenners. I also contributed to the Rowan Yarns Needlepoint range. I then changed to designing bespoke rugs which were made for me in Nepal by my skilled weavers. The talk shows my designs and beautiful images of Nepal. There are also scenes of Dubai, Oman and the Middle East where I exhibited at trade fairs.
